Japanese Antique Samurai Warrior Lord doll, 1920's
Finely modeled Japanese
antique doll
of Samurai Warrior Lord, sitting on camp stool. Samurai Warrior
Lord has a gold court high hat and holds command metal fan
gunpai decorated with Moon and Sun relief
images.
His rich silk brocade kimono and hakama are rendered
with traditional floral motif. He has an armor dressed over
his kimono, tiger fur is under hikizuri
(leg's protection) and wild boar fur on his camp shoes.
The doll was made by the Maruhei , famous Japanese
doll artist from Kyoto (late Taisho period about
1920's)
Dimensions: 44 cm /17,3 inches high
Condition: The doll is in very good condition according
to age and with wonderful antique taste.
