Japanese Antique Samurai Traveler Doll, 1930's
Finely modeled very rare Japanese
antique doll
of a young samurai, dressed with traditionally designed
silk dark-blue kimono, silk brocaded obi belt and sleeveless
haori jacket with pawlonia flowers motif (symbol of Tokugawa
family). Samurai has two swords - katana and wakizashi.
His face is very emotional and impressionable. Probably
he is a traveler and he enjoy the scenery he saw.
The doll was made in Kyoto in early Showa period (about
1930's)
Dimensions: 42 cm / 16,5 inches high
Condition: The doll is in very good condition according
to age with no damage and with real antique taste.
