Japanese antique miniature model of a Samurai Warrior Lord's
armor suit set - GUSOKU, 1920-30's
Japanese miniature model of a suit of armor for display
for Boy's Day made probably by Maruhei.
The armor suit - Gusoku is consist of a cuirass -
do made of metal fittings with silk lace, arm guards,
protective skirt with silk lacing and metal fittings, fine
metal kabuto helmet of multiple collapsible plates
and suspending a three-section shikoro ( neck
guard) with red lacing (separations) and with dragon
maetate on a top just as the real Samurai Warrior Kabuto
Helmet from the Edo period had been, as well as lacquered
metal face guard with white moustache and a pair of a leg
guard - suneate and lacquered wood storage/display
box with gilded image Bird of Paradise among flowers.
Dimensions: 48 cm /18,8 inches high
Condition: very good according to age
