Silk Hand-Painted Silk Kimono (OK-263 ), Antique, 1930's
Lovely Japanese silk kimono with flowers such as cherry
blossom, peonies, pauwlonia, hibiscus, persimmons and also
silk ropes. The design looks like Tchaikovsky "Waltz
of the Flowers" which is hand painted on bordeaux colored
kimono's figured silk background. Family mon or crest
in shape of a pauwlonia flower is embroidered in golden
treads on the kimono's lining on upper part back.
The Kimono is fully lined with white and gold colored silk.
The Kimono is in very good conditions with small hardly
noticeable stains as imprint of a flower from the upper
silk fabric on a silk lining inside the sleeve ( see photo).
Wonderful to wear as home gown or night robe Japanese style.
