Finely modeled amazing
Japanese antique
doll depicts of a young court lady from the retinue
of an empress. The doll is dressed with wonderful
figured silk upper kimono and numerous white silk
under-kimonos and red silk long pants called naga bakama.
Her beautiful long black hair is styled in an intricate
hair-style of a Nara style .
The doll stands with her eyes lowered and her small
mouth slightly open so that white teeth and pink tongue
are visible.
Highly collectible item of Japanese antique art of Meiji
period
